I was born and raised in the city of Detroit. I grew up in the DPS school system and graduated from Detroit Northwestern High School in 1978. I was fortunate enough to work and lived in the city of Detroit my entire life.
My first job was working at the Westin Hotel for nine years now known as the Renaissance Marriott, where I worked in several departments such as housekeeping cleaning 16 rooms a day, as a Bus attendant, and a server
at “ The Summit” revolving restaurant on the 71st floor of the RenCen.

Before leaving in 1985 and becoming a Detroit Police Officer retiring at 26 years on July 15. 2011. In 1977, I started a DJ company called Channel One Production when I was in High School before expanding to an Event Rental Company Where I Would rent out tents, tables, chairs, staging, and Photography for the next 40 years.

As I expanded, I would hire my son, his friends, and neighborhood kids to work for my company to keep them out of trouble and teach them how to start their own businesses. On October 25, 2017, I purchased an old abandoned auto repair shop at 438-444 Meldrum (Off Jefferson and Mt
Elliott). Where I would keep the party rental company going while I started the transformation of the auto garage to a warehouse to store my rental equipment.

In January 2020, when Covi19 hit our country hard and I personally had several major losses of family members and friends. During the next couple of years as the world shut down, and not able to find anyone that
was able to work. I had to change my strategy and reach down deep inside and find a way to reinvent myself. That's when I came up with the idea of changing my Event Rental Company to an Event Venue.

At this point in my life, I took all my strength, energy, and finances to transform this abandoned, old warehouse into an Elegant indoor and outdoor Event Venue with a Courtyard. Unable to get any grants or assistance, I pulled all my resources from my retirement and investments to make my dream come true by having my own. “Channel One Event Venue”

As you can see after being a Detroiter my entire life, and with my background in customer service, entertainment, Law enforcement, and an advocate for the City of Detroit, I was groomed for this New Venture. And
I will guarantee that I will bring things to this venue that people of the city have been waiting for, So come and take a tour for yourself of the “ Channel One Event Venue “.
